U.S. 225 minutes from our cabin is the Vail-owned Steven's Pass Ski Resort for lots of great skiing.
Only a quarter of a mile further down Rt 2 from our turn-off, the Heybrook Lookout hike is the one to bust out early in the morning or if you're looking for a shorter day hike. With 700ft elevation gain it has some good steep parts, and the views from the old fire lookout tower are incredible on a clear day. Look for Mt Baring, Mt Gunn, Mt Index.
