If you want to try local crayfish, this is the place. Although not cheap, their fish (including crayfish) and chips can be taken away or eaten in their standing area overlooking Moeraki Bay.

There are plenty of pubs in the area but these guys do the most consistent food and service. Recently under new owners and they're doing a great job.

This small but well stocked supermarket should have most things you need. For a larger supermarket, the options are Oamaru to the North or Palmerston to the South.

Sightseeing

You can't come to Hampden without visiting the Moeraki Boulders! They're best visited at low tide, or 2 hours either side. At high tide, they'll be mostly underwater but you can still see them from the forest walk above the beach.
