Sightseeing
The Shore Path is at the bottom of Hancock Street. When you get to the shore, go left and it takes you to the town pier, easy walk. If you go tide pool hunting, be careful. Seaweed and green covered rocks are very slippery.

There is a free bus service to nearby villages and Acadia.
The Island Explorer busses take passengers and bicycles and depart from the Village Green. To walk to the Village Green walk half way towards the old garage and turn left. There is a break in the fence. Walk down the drive and turn left onto Atlantic Avenue and up to Elbow Lane, which will take you to Main Street and the Village Green.

On the water
The whale-watching boats are at the town pier. Bring warm clothes, even if it’s 80+ outside. Leisurely bay cruise on the Margaret Todd schooner in front of the Bar Harbor Inn. The Lulu is a lobster boat you can go out on. Acadia Fishing Tours in Southwest Harbor is good if you are into deep-sea fishing. Be prepared for lots of ocean action on the boat. If a smaller watercraft is for you try National Park Sea Kayak Tours or Acadia Stand Up Paddle Boarding.

Bike Riding on the Carriage Roads
If you are into bicycling, you can ride the 45 miles of Acadia’s carriage roads that offer unique scenic views and beautiful stone bridges. Bike and helmet rental are available from Bar Harbor Bicycle Shop. If not into biking try hiking or horse-drawn carriage ride. The roads were built by John D. Rockefeller in the early 1900s and donated to the Park.
