876 year old Ruins of the Chartreuse of Notre-Dame of Oujon is a 30 or so minutes walk up in the mountain behind the house, reaching towards about 1000 meters altitude, in the forest above the Arzier village, this ancience monastery ruins is the oldest in Switzerland. From there are beautiful walks through the forest and over the farm lands with breathtaking views for another half an hour or so of hiking towards the next above village of St Cergue (from which you can take the public train down to Arzier station if you don't want to talk back down), and you can even continue all the way hiking all the way up to La Dole which is at 1677 meters which is the peak of the Jura mountain (our Jurassic period mountain was formed 150-200 million years ago) above.
