About Castle Rock
Castle Rock is a small town feel with all the amenities. It is very family friendly with many good restaurant options (see specific recommendations under the dining guide.) Downtown Castle Rock is walkable from our house (2- 3 miles) but it is a large hill to walk up on your way home! While Uber is available, you may have to wait longer late at night (after 10pm) or early in the morning. The Outlet Mall on the north side of Castle Rock has great discount shopping and many dining options that are more widely known than downtown.

Layers are your friend
The weather in Colorado changes quickly. Dress in layers - short pants in the summer with short sleeves, and bring a light jacket for the evenings and mornings. In the winter long pants, sweater or sweatshirts and warmer jackets are needed. For the cooler months Oct - March be sure to pack shoes that can get wet - while the snow melts quickly it can make for slippery sidewalks.

Cars Necessary
Castle Rock is a small town that does not have its own central transportation. A rental car is the easiest way to get around. There are ride sharing services but they are not always reliable at off-peak times. There is a free local trolley in downtown Castle Rock for sightseeing purposes.
