People who grew up in Yuma always go to the Chile Pepper when they return - college students often ask parents to send them Chile Pepper or take it to them when visiting on campus! Order at the counter, you can dine in or take out - usually a 3-7 minute wait. My personal favorite is a simple Bean and Cheese or Bean and Rice and Cheese burrito and a 1/2 dozen beef rolled tacos. However, they have a full menu to order from. (It’s the Salsa that they serve with the food that makes the difference - I always ask for Extra salsa!)

The Crossing - if you enjoy history want to see some old photos of Yuma, the walls are covered in them! *And they have the best hamburger in Yuma in my opinion - flavorful, very juicy and messy too! It’s called the: SMA burger. (Tell ‘em David Power Sent You)

Lute’s Casino is in downtown (old town) Yuma and anyone visiting who hasn’t been there should go. Been around for nearly a hundred years and all the signs and objects hanging all over the place will prove it… food is okay, but the experience is worth the visit.

*My favorite food in all of Yuma: Aroi Thai in The Palms Shopping Mall! There are so many different plates to choose from (veggie, seafood, beef, chicken, even duck and elk meat) and they are ALL so flavorful.

Yuma History

If you are wanting a tour of the City or insight of its history, look no further than to R.E. Power the Second. R.E. is a third generation Yuman, grandson of a farming, land development and mining pioneer. Not only a historian of this area, he also dedicates time to current official City business and is an avid photographer of nature scenes in Yuma County.
