Coffea is a local favorite for all ages with locations on west side, east side and downtown. I have spent hours and hours at the west side location on Louise Ave over the years.... has a fire place!
Note on their bakery items, they do have gluten free options.

In my opinion, the best ice cream ever! A local, family owned dairy from just across the IA boarder. All their locations are cute settings for sitting. They have more than just ice cream, Stensland's sells butter, cheese, frozen pizza, tubs of their ice cream and more!

Cajun food on the Norther Plains may seem a little out of place, but this Louisiana native owned restaurant is one of a kind in Sioux Falls. If you like flavor, and Cajun flavor, this is where I would recommend you go.

If you like Boho Islander and cocktails this is where I would send you. It is one of its kind I would say in the state. Very eclectic setting with a large cocktail menu. Best part, Pizza Cheeks pizza is in the back!
In the evening, especially on the weekend this is the place to be. Be prepared for large crowds and being carded at the door.

Amazing, thin crust pizza, to the point it is a fold in half pizza. They have homemade sauces that are the bomb. They open in the evening only.
Recommendation: The Pepperoni

City/town information
Beautiful, historic town along the mighty MO. Great for a weekend get away with a significant other. There are many camping and fishing areas. One has to walk across the "old over and under" bridge...and image driving on the top!

I will put this in favorite shop category, but it is also a restaurant. Family owned for over 100 years, they reinvented themselves about 5 years ago and did an amazing job. The shop is full of specialty foods, they have a bakery, meat counter, deli counter etc. They aren't open late, so plan ahead.
Recommendation: Tomato soup.
