Some of my favorite places
I moved back to Oxford in 2015. The town had changed so much. I have listed some of my favorite places in Oxford.
First of all, Ole Miss is my alma mater! (Class of 1974). Ole Miss is home to so many. Besides, the athletics, there is so much more to do. Many cultural performances are held at the Gertrude Ford Center. I am a volunteer there. The University Museum is phenomenal. Of course, needless to say the game seasons do speak for themselves.

Best oysters on the half shell! Many times there are themed communal dinners. I attended one this summer. It was Cajun themed. Wonderful experience with the chef on hand.

This museum was at one time a United Methodist Church. With funds from John Grisham and obtaining grants, the museum now houses artifacts and information concerning African - American greats in Oxford - Lafayette. Take a journey through history at the Burns - Belfry Museum.

So much happens here. The Arts Council is housed here. Works of Arts by local artists and students are frequently on display. Film documentaries are often viewed at the Powerhouse. This is also a venue that can be rented for special occasions.

This gallery often has the artist present who is being featured. Many times these receptions are scheduled during home games. I thoroughly enjoy attending and viewing the works of art.

Tea Room
At this time...the "Chancellor's House" is under renovation. Will update when this changes.
I hosted a tea there in memory of my mother. My guests were fellow members of the Southern Jewels Bookclub. We had an awesome time in the "Cofield Room". This hotel also has fine dining as well as casual.

Having lived in Louisiana for 40 years...Popeyes is my "go to" fried chicken. The beignets are good as well.

People literally from "near and FAR" have come to dine here. I took a Louisiana friend there once....from the outside of the establishment she had a "what in the world look". After getting on the inside after a long line...she still looked a little puzzled. Yet, boy did we both enjoy the food and service. "Award - Winning Catfish"...
