Across the street you will see one of the Easternmost yak farms in the United States. The owners breed yaks for their fur and their meat. But they love them- and all have names and a story. When you walk the loop they will watch you. They are peaceful animals behind their fence.

For groceries we recommend Kroger in Mount Sterling or Morehead. If you forget- the IGA in Frenchburg has everything you need too. But remember this isn't the big city so hours are limited, and on many holidays they are closed.

In Your Suitcase
Remember this is the country... so we recommend (depending on the season) bringing things like bug spray, first aid items, etc. Remember there can be spiders, bees, snakes, and other wildlife. We treat the cabin and perimeter.. but we know they outnumber us!
