Coochie (as the locals know it) is a small, slow-paced island, ideal for picnics and with lovely views of Moreton Bay. It lacks the magnificent scenery and beaches of Stradbroke Island, but it's quicker, easier, and cheaper to get to. A ferry leaves from the Victoria Point jetty every half hour. The trip to the island takes ten minutes. (This is a car only recommendation - getting to Victoria Point by public transport is convoluted and time-consuming.)
