Madison Kitchen is only 2 blocks from our home. It's a great place for espresso drinks and delicious bites. Although it's not big, there are tables inside and on a rainy afternoon this is the perfect neighborhood cafe to feel cozy watching the rain from inside doing some work on your laptop.

PIZZA! This is the absolute best pizza in the city! They have been many times voted #1 in Seattle and are on top 10 outside of NYC and Chicago! Their 12" thin crust pies are delicious, they have many great topping combinations and all of it is fresh and locally sourced when possible. The owner is personal friends with the farmers of where many of the ingredients come from and you can taste the quality. The Indie is only open for dinner and there is usually a wait so be prepared. This is a must try!

Don't expect to get a normal latte or mocha here, they serve fancy coffee drinks with a hint of this and infused that! Also try their chemistry coffee, made in what look like test tubes, heated to the perfect temperature and all made right in front of you as if you were in a coffee laboratory!

I know this is the crumpet shop, BUT their scones are life changing! Organic buttermilk English scones are to die for. They often run out by noon so plan to go here early, and they also have a drip tea bar with 8 different kinds of tea which you can have unlimited refills all day long. The crumpets are okay, the only time I've had them is when they are out of scones and usually I'm already in a disappointed mood.

They often run out by noon so plan to go here early, and they also have a drip tea bar with 8 different kinds of tea which you can have unlimited refills all day long. The crumpets are okay, the only time I've had them is when they are out of scones and usually I'm already in a disappointed mood.
Brunch, Lunch and Dinner are all superb here. This is an all vegetarian restaurant and they source their produce locally. The menu changes seasonally to use only sustainable in-season ingredients. They are very mindful in their intentions and the food is always delicious.

2901 E Madison StBrunch, Lunch and Dinner are all superb here. This is an all vegetarian restaurant and they source their produce locally. The menu changes seasonally to use only sustainable in-season ingredients. They are very mindful in their intentions and the food is always delicious.

Bert's Red Apple Market is 5min walking from our home and they have everything you will need from sandwich fixings to shampoo. Keep in mind though, since they are the only grocery store in the neighborhood they tend to be pretty expensive! So they're great if you need something quick but otherwise pick up your groceries somewhere cheaper.

Keep in mind though, since they are the only grocery store in the neighborhood they tend to be pretty expensive! So they're great if you need something quick but otherwise pick up your groceries somewhere cheaper.
Parks & Nature
This is our local beach (it has some sand, but mostly grass). In the summer time it is packed with Seattlites from the city who come to enjoy the sunshine and gorgeous views of the lake and Mount Rainier. There are lifeguards on duty who like to follow the rules. Even if you don't plan on swimming this is a great picnic spot where everyone brings their brown paper bags.

Sightseeing
The Columbia Tower is the second tallest building on the west coast! 360 views and much nicer than the space needle. I recommend visiting here instead of the space needle, it is also half the price and much more stunning views!
