This part of the city was neglected for a sometime with vacant buildings and dormant shopfronts. Today it is a thriving neighbourhood defined by street cafes, bookshops, pubs and the trendy designer hipster crowd. Take a walk through the Company Gardens, past the Parliament precinct and you will find this little gem of a neighbourbood

As you landed at the airport, you would have been greeted by shack dwellings and what appears to be slumhoods. There are some bright spots in the township ghetto story. Khayelitsha is one of them. For more info:

Philippi-Nyanga is famous for being the murder capital of Cape Town (yes, I worked there some years ago). If you love watersports, you will love Bloubergstrand. Wait for good weather though. Also to be found here are restaurants, bars, malls, etc. A relatively new neighbourhood but the views of Table Mountain from here cannot be matched.

19 Dock RdBeach life of the highest order. Bring your washboard abs (LOL). You cannot come to Cape Town and not peep into Camps Bay and Clifton beaches. Seriously. If it's sunny on any morning (pre 11AM) or afternoon (post 3PM) - it gets very hot! - pack you beach towel and flip flops, head to the beach. Plenty of sunscreen and hydration will be needed. You can rent a beach umbrella and lounger when you get there (R100 for both, R60 for the umbrella). There are restaurants and bars galore should you get hungry. There is also a grocery store and pharmacy.
