Drop in here and look through their spotting scopes - it's fun and that's what they're for! Good place to buy creative gifts for grandchildren - or binoculars for yourself.

Great place for grocery shopping, pharmacy needs - and a hardware store if need be! The clam chowder sold in the back of the Mendocino store (near fish market) is great. A loaf of Hannah's Seeded bread from Ft. Bragg Bakery (sold in grocery store) and some of this chowder = a great little dinner.

Favorite restaurant of many visitors. Beaujolais used to be owned by Margaret Fox, well known in the world of foodies as a pioneer in farm to table concept. We've had excellent dinners at Beaujolais, but I think it's overpriced and still riding the wave of its former fame. Other restaurants are equally good.

Excellent for breakfast or lunch. It's crowded at lunch and noisy - favorite of locals as well as visitors from out of town. The Mexican food is great, as are the cookies, quiche, soups...
Also great place to get take out for dinner; remember that they run out of things and close "around 3 pm", so best to go early and pick out your dinner.

Our favorite place! You can see Catch A Canoe from the house; it's THE place to rent a kayak and paddle up Big River to see river otters, seals, herons and other bird life...and to enjoy the serenity.
