The Blue Cafe is a super-local neighbourhood institution. It's a little expensive (and a bit tatty these days) but definitely worth at least one visit.

The Power and The Glory is our local. They are open for breakfast but it's best for lunch and beers in the evening. Everything on the menu is a tasty treat; the hotdog and beef pie are our favourites.
