Patrons each board a personal flight simulator that shifts seamlessly between modern and historic pilot experiences. After 15 minutes of prep, they get down to business: 45 minutes of simulated air combat. Beforehand, they also undergo a 15-minute briefing on basic principles of flight and fighting techniques—so all told, the experience takes 75 minutes. A P-51 Mustang. An F-15. A MiG-29. It sounds as though all of these planes, among many others, would require a massive hangar. They all live inside the flight simulation machines, though, at Squadron Ops Sim Center. Those units capture the breathtaking sensations of dogfighting with head-tracking systems and high-definition displays. They're also connected, so patrons can fly alongside friends and family. Those battles might occur between modern fighter jets or World War II aircraft, and the technology in the simulators makes flying intuitive and natural feeling. On some evenings, real fighter pilots visit the center and draw upon their extensive experience to provide instruction. Lots of fun!
