In the center of Havana, this park lets you to discover the city’s natural side. It has a vibrant exhibition of birds and native trees, as well as a butterfly sanctuary where Cuba’s seven native butterflies and their host plants can be found. Each month, the park hosts different nature festivals. And there are tours throughout the week. The Rima Jaca, Cuba’s largest fruit. Its flavor is said to be a mixture of all the fruits that exist on the island.

The former stately residence of Independence War general Máximo Gómez, the Quinta sits in lush surroundings that have been managed as botanical gardens since 1839. While the former Gómez residence is closed, some of the grounds – with 160 tree species, 40 bird species and the tiny, colorful polymita snails that are endemic to Cuba – can be explored.
