A tea house with exceptional views of the Rikugien Garden, designated a place of special scenic beauty by the Japanese government. The scenery is lovely from season to season, but especially in fall when the leaves turn red and yellow and the garden is illuminated at night. They serve fresh Japanese sweets shaped like seasonal flowers. This government-managed park is very affordable, costing only ¥810 for entrance combined with a drink of green tea. From spring until early summer the azalea trees—some of which are up to 300 years old—paint the park pink. There are free guided tours every other Sunday. Look online for more info.
