The remnants of the wild west. Fort Verde was a military outpost protecting settlers pushing west. Some of the original homes have been preserved and the small museum is worth the visit.

This original Military Headquarters is now a museum which contains artifacts, photos, videos, and interpretive exhibits focused on the history and lives of those who lived and served at Fort Verde: soldiers, Indian Scouts, settlers, doctors, and Native Americans. Three of the original homes along Officer's Row are still remaining and furnished with period artifacts.

Ft. Verde is one of the Arizona forts that housed army members in the 1800's. The grounds have the original housing for the doctors, the enlisted men, married couples, etc. It is very well kept and a great way to learn more about how the American Southwest came to be as it is today! Located in the picturesque to of Camp Verde and great way to spend the day!
