The Funk Zone is known for its cluster of great wineries, distilleries, art studios, live music, fabulous cuisine and “funky finds!”
The Funk Zone is THE hot spot of Santa Barbara at the moment. It's full of wine tasting rooms, restaurants, a few bars, and a brewery (Fig Mountain). Some of my favorite wineries are Kunin Wines, Lafond, and Riverbench. The Zone is just about a block from the beach! Wineries normally close around 6 p.m. during the off-season and around 7 p.m. during the summer months.

Creative American food from regional ingredients and served on a large outdoor patio with local beers & wines.
The Funk Zone neighborhood has dozens of dining, drinking, and shopping options all within a few blocks. This is a fun destination and it’s an easy walk from Villa Azul. We like: The Project, The Biergarten, Loquita and Rincon brewery for casual eats, For a nicer meal make a reservation at The Lark, The Fish House, Santo Mezcal or Finneys. Be aware there is Limited parking in The Funk Zone and its walkable from Villa Azul. All over town you will see “parklets” and patios for outdoor dining, bring a jacket as it gets cold at night!
