One of my favourite places to discover local painters and sculptors and to pick up handcrafted artwork to take home. They help young, unemployed Nairobians break into the arts, so it’s money well spent. The centre is located in a garden, and the artists all have their own shipping containers to work from. If you visit on a weekday, you’ll have the best chance of seeing the artists while they work and can speak to them about the inspiration behind their crafts.

Kuona Trust hosts exhibitions and artists’ talks, maintains a library, and fosters an open door policy that allows local residents and members of the general public interested in art to visit the artists’ studios and workshops at any time to gain a first-hand impression of the creation of art.
The Kuona Trust is an artists' collective tucked away on a quiet street in Kilimani, where you can find studios made from shipping containers. In the main building, there's usually a gallery show or workshop going on, plus a small store. You'll find artists who specialize in anything from wood to metal to oils to prints. Many artists have their work on display, some for sale.
