This is truly a magic place on earth, full of creative artisan crafts people from around the world, all nestled on a beautiful campus. You can walk down the main stairway to a beautiful platform view over the rocks, looking out onto the surrounding waters and islands (check in at office first). Every last Thursday of a session, they hold a live and silent auction of the various artists/teachers from the sessions, along with presentations showcasing some of the individuals works and stories. Get there an hour before the auction for a walk-through of all the studios, where the artists are displaying their session's accomplishments, in a wine & cheese type celebratory atmosphere. They also have a great retail store on campus, open during the day, where you can purchase an array of art materials and literature, if you are in need of.

This artists' residence colony has open exhibit days that allow visitors to view the artists' work. The art is usually very high caliber and the setting is beautiful.
Renowned international craft school located in Deer Isle. Haystack offers one and two week studio workshops as well as a residency program, exhibitions, tours, auctions, artist presentations, and shorter workshops for Maine residents and high school students.
