Situated an hour's drive from the Guesthouse, past Castlebaldwin, Carrowkeel is a beautifully situated neolithic hilltop passage tomb complex consisting of 14 passage cairns identified with letters. The passage cairns are spread across a number of hills that form part of the Bricklieve Mountain range.

This is one of ‘big 4’ passage tomb cemeteries in Ireland, this mound is one of 14 cairns forming part of the Carrowkeel neolithic passage tomb cemetery.

Carrowkeel is a megalithic hill top passage tomb cemetery. There are 14 cairns located at different positions on the hilltops with a further group of 6 cairns extending west towards Keshcorran.

In the northwest, the largest horde of Neolithic monuments can be found in Sligo. With just 70,000 inhabitants, County Sligo is not a big place so this is impressive.
