All proceeds from this thrift shop benefit homeless locals with HIV and AIDS. I would shop here for that reason alone. But because they're tapped into a cool network of influential patrons, they pull in a wide range of men's and women's clothing, including high-end designer brands and fast fashion, and they turn it around at reasonable prices. Housing Works usually holds a biannual event, Best of Fall or Best of Spring. Try to attend these events to get first dibs on their best stock of the season.

Like books? Feeling charitable? Then you must visit this cute second hand bookstore
Used books! This is a great space with a cafe. All workers are volunteers! And in the HEART of SOHO!
Bookstores generally tend to attract thoughtful people, a used bookstore where you can buy a Proust paperback for 50 cents & conversations quickly escalate into heated discussions about all sorts GREAT
