The Ile de la Cité is the true heart of Paris. It was home to the Parisii tribe, named after the Celtic word for a boat on the water, before Caesar's troops conquered it.
The Île de la Cité is one of two remaining natural islands in the Seine within the city of Paris (the other being the Île Saint-Louis). The western end has held a palace since Merovingian times.
Go there wander around , get a bottle of wine and indulge yourself to a romantic get away on the river bank
