There are several lakes that where formed by ice (little glaciers) during the ice age: Glaswaldsee, Ellbachsee, Sankenbachsee, Huzenbacher See, Schurmsee, Wilder See and Mummelsee. Wilder See also has the oldest protected forrest and Hornisgrinde (in hiking distance from Wilder See) is the highest Peak of the northern black forrest with stunning views.
