One of the most visited historic places in Montenegro is Kotor Old Town. It is a specific city, ruled by many conquerors and devastated in earthquake in 1979, yet renewed and attractive to tourists.
Being close to Kotor and not visiting Old Town is unthinkable. Narrow labyrinth streets within city walls in the town of such rich history is definitely must see!
Kotor’s Venetian old town lies on the shore of the Bay of Kotor and is backed by sheer mountains. The labyrinthine alleyways lead past museums, old barracks, traditional restaurants and churches. Locals love to pick up a cone of wild strawberry ice cream and lounge over coffee in one of the town’s piazzas.
