You've never seen anything like this place! Built by Mercer showcasing Mercer tiles as well as his international collection all built into the walls and floors. Tours & special events. Totally unique former residence!
Also a super cool place. I like to take any artistic, visiting friends here!

A beautiful castle/home with an interesting history. The ancient tiles are a particular favorite.
Yes, we have castles in Bucks County Built between 1908-1912, Fonthill was the home of Henry Chapman Mercer (1856-1930).Mercer built Fonthill both as his home and as a showplace for his collection of tiles and prints. What I really love about Fonthill, in addition to the European castle-vibe, is all the beautiful tiles scattered throughout the home. Thousands are scattered in the walls, floors, and columns of the homes. Some are simple decorative colors, while others were mosaics or even told stories through multiple tiles placed next to each other. I have no doubt that you could tour the home a hundred times and still uncover a new one that you had never seen before.
