Hilo's famed Farmers Market is open Wednesdays and Saturdays, although there are some fruit & vegetable vendors open daily. It gets crowded, but they have a delicious and amazing array of local fruits, veggies, wares and food. Across the road are vendors selling a huge variety of goods.
Shopping here is so fun! Look for exotic fruit, Hawaii art, jewelry and foodies here. There is a taco shack included and shaved ice building right in the market area. Flavored shaved ice with Haupia (coconut cream) on top YUM! There is little local shops all around and across the street with Hawaiian gifts to take home! Buy some Lychee, a coconut, a pineapple, papaya and a mango and learn some new ones! This is fun with the bay just across the street! Aloha & Mahalo!
