Beautiful building with endless options for fiction, non-fiction books as well as a large selection of audio books and DVDs. There is also a telescope and observatory on the grounds to see the stars!

Opened in March of 2018, this observatory is adjacent to the city of Rancho Mirage’s public library. Free observatory tours are available (10am and 5pm) during the week and regular stargazing parties are organised – there’s even an outdoor stargazing deck to park on. There are frequent lectures by astronomers and scientists, including, in December, Ice Worlds: A Tour of the Solar System’s Biggest Snowballs. Rancho Mirage suffers less light pollution than the other desert cities and its skies serve up a stunning show. Alternatively, take the 70-minute drive to Joshua Tree national park and explore its observatory.
