Tongariro National Park is spectacular, take the chair lift up Ruapehu from Whakapapa in the summer time or walk the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Turoa and Whakapapa are the places to be during winter to get those amazing skiing and snowboarding days.

In addition to the iconic Tongariro Alpine Crossing, try some of the shorter walk around Whakapapa Village, such as Tawhai Falls, Taranaki Falls, Tama Lakes and Silica Rapids.
