Le Roys Bush is a beautiful complex of reserves with streams and walkways running from Birkenhead Village (Highbury) down to Little Shoal Bay beach. Le Roys Bush reserve has high ecological value. You can walk from sea level through raupo wetland and up through native forest to the highest hill on the North Shore. Please enjoy this natural diversity - whether you are walking or jogging the tracks or helping volunteers who work to enhance the reserve for public enjoyment. This beloved bush walk offers a chance to get away from everything without having to travel far, offering pristine bush in the middle of urban Auckland. The track includes boardwalks, steps and bridges, plus a lookout platform with views of the stream and surrounding bush. The bush leads down into restored wetlands of Little Shoal Bay.
