The "rue Sainte Marthe" is a small quiet street where few cars pass. There are many artists' studios and "world food" restaurants. The facades are colored. It's a very nice area to walk around and have a drink on the terrace.
This area has a village-like atmosphere. It is now a cosmopolitan and multicultural district, with plenty of small shops and bistros or artisanal businesses. Most of the people on the streets are local residents, with few passers-by, and the area is at its most lively in the evenings. Une rue à la Doisneau et, au bout, une petite place et ses cafés. A feeling of Paris of the 50's and Robert Doisneau's photos... At the end, a charming place with nice cafes.
