Nestled at the eastern edge of Georgian Bay on the cusp of the Canadian Shield is this natural gem. I visited recently with a birding group and was extremely impressed by the rich assorted of animals and plants to be found. I saw many different songbirds along the trails, constantly darting from tree to tree. Warblers, buntings, sparrows, you name it. Closer to the bay are herons, gulls, and flycatchers among others. I was also lucky enough to spot an osprey soaring past, very cool. The spring plants were great too; Red Columbines, anemones, daisys, etc. Even a few trilliums hanging on.
