It is said that there remained it the billboard announcing a framework-raising ceremony of having revived in (1349) for Jowa four years in the Edo era although being unknown in the foundation generation of Hirai Emperor's ancestors Shrine. I became a local deity of Nakahira Imura in the Edo era and did line case in the village shrine in 1874. 平井天祖神社の創建年代は不詳ながら、貞和4年（1349）に再興した旨の棟札が、江戸時代には残されていたといいます。江戸時代には中平井村の鎮守となっており、明治7年に村社に列格していました。
