Haarlem Centraal is the main train station in Haarlem. You can take trains to the center of Amsterdam (15min one way). The trains run very often, several times an hour and you can also take them to the beach in Zandvoort. There are also busses and you can also rent bikes there.

Local department store, not too special. BUT: the rooftop restaurant has nice views over the city. and the ground floor food department is good.
