Set your GPS for West Head in Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park. Once you get out of the city traffic and into the park, you’ll pass along winding, secluded roads over lots of waterways—it’s amazing that it’s so close to the city. Stop at West Head Lookout for views of Broken Bay, Pittwater, and Barrenjoey Head—it’s quite unlike any other Sydney viewpoint. There are lots of very scenic picnic areas here, so bring a picnic! Empire Marina Bobbin Head is pretty special, it’s got all the facilities you need, like barbecues and tables, plus you can hire a boat or canoe and explore the area in a different way.
