The hallmark of Malacca. Built by a Portuguese in 1511 as a fortress, it sustained severe structural damage during the Dutch invasion. The Dutch has set to destroy it but was intervened by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1808 and that was what remains of A Famosa today.
