The Pine Trailhead is 1.3 miles from Glowing Pines Lodge. Parking is ample, and there a few choices for hikes presented on a clear map at the trail head. We recommend starting with the "Pine Loop Trail" which is 2.7 miles. The path is well marked and easy to moderate. Mountain bikes are also allowed on this trail. There are some nice views from the upper section, and you will pass through lots of different vegetation. We went with a 10 year old and two active 70 year-olds and it was the perfect length for the group.

Clocking in at just under three miles, Pine Loop Trail is an easy little adventure suitable for all skill levels. In an hour or less, you'll meander through lush greenery on a red dirt path and emerge feeling rejuvenated, at peace, and one with nature. Pine trees whose narrow trunks seemingly stretch up to the clouds and wide open, panoramic vistas of the surrounding desert landscape are just two types of terrain you'll see. This is such a well-rounded hike, with a little something that speaks to the soul of everyone who embarks on it. Despite an elevation gain of only 360 feet, this summit view is pretty impressive. It's so quiet you could hear a pin drop, and snow-capped mountain peaks tower majestically in the distance. The trail is minimally trafficked, so you'll have ample opportunity to close your eyes and revel in the stillness. In the spring, wildflowers spanning every color of the rainbow burst into life along the path. Several trails intersect with the loop, so feel free to extend your hike if three miles isn't quite enough.
