Nice small-town feel to this aquarium which Smithsonian partners with. Local sea-life, excellent and informative staff. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff - they seem to enjoy being a part of the educational experience. You can join a guided tour or wander on your own. Takes as few as 10-15 minutes and maybe up to an hour depending on your interest and curiosity. First Tuesday of each month is free admission, otherwise, the highest cost is just $5 for adults, $4 for seniors.

The Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit at the St. Lucie County Aquarium is dedicated to educating the general public and school groups about the critical need to preserve the diversity and complexity of Florida’s marine environments. At the Aquarium, visitors can explore living models of six different Florida marine and estuarine ecosystems while learning about the importance and intricacy of these ecosystems. The largest display is a spectacular living model of a Caribbean coral reef ecosystem. Other displays include seagrass, mangrove, lagoon hardbottom, and nearshore reef habitats, as well as a deepwater Oculina coral reef. There are several smaller aquarium displays and microscope displays where visitors can get a glimpse of the microscopic world. A touch tank also allows visitors an up-close encounter with local marine life.

Very small aquarium but a fun little trip. The historical museum and art museum are all in walking distance.
Great price, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Small place, but very interactive, the kids enjoyed it.
Cute aquarium that small kids would enjoy. Nice family activity. Right next-door is a great playground park, water view., sitting areas, beautiful trees and you can walk right over to a great area to swim with calmer waters. Nice park benches for bbq and a hop, skip and a jump to Chucky's seafood restaurant.
