The C&O Canal runs from Cumberland all the way to Washington, DC. Jump on the trail in Hancock for a nice walk or bicycle ride.

The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, abbreviated as the C&O Canal and occasionally called the "Grand Old Ditch," operated from 1831 until 1924 along the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., to Cumberland, Maryland.

The C&O Canal path is a perfect trail for walking and biking. The best place to drive and park would be Point of Rocks, MD which is roughly 15 mins north of Leesburg.
