"Quieter neighbour to Barrie’s bustling Centennial Park waterfront, Johnson’s beach provides a two-acre wedge of sandy expanse along with beautiful views of the shoreline and the city proper. The views from the beach stretch out across Kempenfelt Bay with the city skyline as a backdrop. Often there are also views of marine activity. Johnson’s beach offers parking, washroom facilities, and easy access to the nearby North Shore multi-use trail. The beach is open for swimming from late June until mid-August, during which time a lifeguard is on duty daily from 11:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. There are lifejackets available for the public to borrow at the Lifeguard’s office. No smoking and no dogs are permitted on the beach. The Yacht Club is located next door on one side. It is an ideal destination for those seeking some semblance privacy."
