In the heart of the village of Vallorcine, at the bottom of the ski slope connecting the Col de Balme to Vallorcine you will find the Café-Comptoir. The "bistro" spirit of this restaurant in an old traditional chalet is a combination of authentic and contemporary. A bistronomic twist on classic Swiss and Italian cusine is what makes this place so special. Not every day you can hop onto your ski’s in Le tour and ski over into Vallorcine just before the swiss border and finish it all off by a delicious meal at the Café Comptoir!

If you are hiking or skiing up in Vallorcine for the day, please be sure to stop by Le Café Comptoir for a snack or a meal before you leave. Serves lunch and dinner. Great ambiance, with a distinct "transalpine" style, bringing the best from the French, Italian and Swiss alps. Fresh and elegant dishes as well as traditional cheesy fare with quality ingredients. A couple of dishes for vegetarians, but please ask while you are there. Not sure if they know what a vegan is, however. Menu: lecafecomptoir.com Phone: 04 50 18 72 43

Fantastic restaurant in the Vallorcine ski area. I always take the train or drive to Vallorcine to access the Balme ski area (rather than go to Le Tour). It's a little bit further, but the lifts are better here and there are a couple of really good restaurants for lunch during the skiing day.
