Beautiful walk to the waterfalls and great spot to swim for the adventurous type. This walk is about 15/20 min from the car park to the falls.
Head left down Sixth Ave and keep heading downhill to Minni Ha Ha Reserve. You will find the walk to Minni Ha Ha Falls. A walk down to the bottom is a pool of fresh mountain water for a brisk dip in summer. About 1.5 hour return walk.
Minne haha is a fabulous, easy bushwalk in North Katoomba with beautiful waterfalls and a large swimming hole perfect for summer days. Bring your swimmers and towel on a warm day. Very scenic an easy walk with 2 metal flights of stairs closer to the Falls otherwise a flat walk through picturesque bush. A must see!
Enjoy a 2.5km return walk to the pool at the base of the Falls. At the carpark there is playground equipment and some picnic tables. The track was constructed in 1894. The area around Minnehaha Falls was owned in the 1890s by an American company called The Assets Realization and General Finance Co. Ltd. It reminded them of Yosemite National Park, the first reserve of its sort in the world, established in California in 1890, so the creek that feeds Minnehaha Falls was named Yosemite Creek. Over time, it’s also been known as: Minnie Ha-ha Falls, Minna-ha-ha Falls and Minne-ha-ha Falls.
