Ronan Park runs along the west edge of the Chicago River north of Lawrence. If you switch to the bike path on the east side of the river, you can ride it all the way out to the suburbs and beyond.
The closest entrance to the North Shore Channel Trail, part of a "long park" that goes along the North Branch - ride or walk along it for however long you like!
